The 2023 ODI World Cup is on the horizon and India is gearing up to host the mega ICC event during October-November. The BCCI has begun preparations in full swing and has created a dedicated team to oversee the venues which could potentially host the fixtures. Arguably one of the biggest highlight points of the event will be the eagerly-anticipated content between the arch-rivals- team India and Pakistan.
Considering that the cricketing boards of both nations are at loggerheads over the hosting rights of the Asia Cup 2023, it remains to be seen if they collide at the ACC event prior to the World Cup in India. The ACC is yet to announce the Asia Cup Schedule but an India-Pakistan fixture at any stage will undoubtedly be worth the hype.
Speaking about the global ODI event in India, teams have begun ideating plans in order to obtain a core team just in time for the competition. Fans will be eager to witness the competition and closely follow the World Cup Live Score once the event kickstarts. As the PCB have their doubts of playing at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, here are three venues that could potentially host the India vs Pakistan 2023 ODI World Cup game-
3. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru
The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru has hosted numerous ICC matches over the years. During the 2011 World Cup, the venue hosted four matches, with the biggest clash being the India vs England match that ended in a tie. Considering the shorter dimensions of the ground, a clash between the arch-rivals could be a cracker of a contest.
2. MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai
The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai could potentially be one of the host venues for the crucial clash between the rivals. Numerous reports have suggested that Pakistan is open to playing in Chennai, which is a likely venue for the forthcoming World Cup. With an upgrade in the stands at the venue in Chennai, the BCCI could add Chepauk in the potentials list to host the crucial affair.
1. Eden Gardens, Kolkata
The iconic Eden Gardens is arguably one of the most historic grounds in India and will undoubtedly get matches to host. However, a high-voltage clash such as the India vs Pakistan will perfectly back the long-standing rivalry between the two sides. It remains to be seen if Kolkata gets to host one of the biggest matches of the competition in October.
