India recently defeated Bangladesh in a two-match Test series by 2-0 and opened the doors for the WTC final against Australia. However, South Africa was ahead in line of India until Australia defeated South Africa by 2-0 in the recently concluded Test series against the teams. Now, India has the golden chance of reaching the WTC final for the second time in a row.

But India needs to play good cricket in the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy to reach the WTC final in 2023. If India gets badly beaten by Australia, South Africa and Australia will play the final of WTC at Lords.

India can still qualify if they lose BGT by 2-1, If WI wins/draws 1 out of 2 Tests Vs SA and NZ wins 1 Test Vs SL.

These are the scenarios in which the Indian cricket team can reach the World Test Championship final.
