ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to start from 5th October 2023 with a huge clash between England and New Zealand. Most of the participating teams have already revealed their squads for the upcoming World Cup. There are many big names in the squads of the teams but not everyone will get to play in the games and some of these big players will warm the bench in World Cup 2023. Below is the list of players who may warm the bench in World Cup 2023.
1- Axar Patel
Axar Patel is include in India’s squad for World Cup 2023 ahead of the ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. However, the Indian team is expected to waste the talent of Axar in the upcoming tournament and miss out on the opportunity of selecting Chahal in the squad. Axar is a like to like replacement of Ravindra Jadeja who is expected to play all the matches for Team India in World Cup 2023. Thus, Axar will only the play the role of a spectator in World Cup 2023.
2- Suryakumar Yadav
Even though Suryakumar Yadav is selected ahead of Sanju Samson in the World Cup squad of India, it seems that the batter from Mumbai will continue to warm the bench till the finish of World Cup 2023. SKY is already warming the bench in Asia Cup as he is not fitting into the plans of India and the situation is not expected to get better for him.
3- Josh Hazlewood
Josh Hazlewood is one of the best pacers for Australia in the recent times but he is a bit vulnerable on the Indian pitches. Australia has also picked Sean Abbott in the squad who can bowl the hard bowl and bat with an impressive strike rate lower down the order. Abbott is expected to be the first choice instead of Josh Hazlewood for Australia in World Cup 2023.

4- Cameron Green
Cameron Green is an exciting young talent but his batting is yet to hit a mark in the ODIs. Australia has many all-rounders in their team including the veterans Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Marsh who are quite similar to Cameron Green. Both Marsh and Stoinis will definitely represent Australia in the World Cup games and this means that Green will have to sit on the sidelines.
5- Harry Brook
Harry Brook is not in the provisional squad of England for World Cup 2023 but he is expected to be included in the final squad which is to be announced before the 28th September 2023. Brook was left out due to Ben Stokes but England is expected to make way for him by excluding Dawid Malan from their batting line-up. However, in the tournament Brook will always be a second choice as Ben Stokes is surely going to play all the matches for England.
