Before the TATA IPL 2022, a mega auction was held which saw numerous players being sold. While some players were bought back by their earlier IPL teams, some moved to new franchises.

The 15th season of IPL is bringing out some inevitable as CSK & MI who hold 9 titles out of 14 are winless in their 4 matches. On the other hand, two new franchises  Gujarat Titans & Lucknow Super Giants are making all the noise with their magnificent team performances.

Over the 15-year IPL history, players have moved from one franchise to another, while some settled at one franchise (like Rohit Sharma after moving from Deccan Chargers to Mumbai Indians). Whereas, some players were transferred or sold to different franchises and don a new jersey.

Here are the 5 players to play for the maximum number of IPL teams-

    5) Yuvraj Singh (6 IPL Teams)

The 2011 World Cup player of the tournament certainly didn’t have a memorable IPL journey as Yuvraj Singh couldn’t find a permanent spot in one franchise camp. Therefore, he went on to represent 6 different IPL franchises over his IPL journey. Yuvi played for  Punjab, Pune Warriors India, RCB, Delhi Daredevils, RCB, SRH, and MI. Yuvraj has decent IPL stats to his name, including 36 IPL wickets and 2750 runs in 132 IPL matches.

    4) Robin Uthappa (6 IPL Teams)

Robin Uthappa has scored 4700 runs in 193 IPL matches at an astonishing strike rate of 130. Currently, the 36-year-old batter is with CSK, however before moving to CSK’s camp, the player has played for 5 different IPL teams including MI, RCB, Pune Warriors India, KKR and RR.

    3) Ishant Sharma (6 IPL Teams)

Ishant Sharma was unsold in IPL 2022. Even his former team Delhi Capitals didn’t bid for him. The experienced Indian bowler has represented 6 franchises in total in his IPL journey. The right-arm fast bowler began his IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders and then moved to Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rising Pune Supergiants, Punjab Kings, and latest Delhi Capitals. Ishant has played 93 IPL matches to maintain an economy close to 8 and took 72 wickets.

    2) Dinesh Karthik (6 IPL Teams)

Dinesh Karthik who has been finishing the games for RCB in IPL 2022 and is yet to be dismissed has played for 6 IPL franchises. DK began his IPL journey with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2007. Then he represented Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), further Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB), and Gujarat Lions.

Finally, it seemed like Dinesh Karthik will settle and retire from Kolkata Knight Riders where he represented the franchise from 2018-to 2021 and even lead them. However, DK was released before the mega auction and bought by RCB once again. The senior player has played over 200 IPL matches at a strike rate near 130.

    1) Aaron Finch (9 IPL Teams)

Aaron Finch, the captain of Australia in limited over hasn’t been able to live up to his reputation in his IPL journey as the Aussie has represented 8 different franchises before moving to KKR (9th franchise) for IPL 2022. He has donned the jersey of RR, Delhi Daredevils, Pune Warriors India, SRH, MI, Punjab, Gujarat Lions, and RCB. Finch was unsold for the previous two IPL seasons and he has over 2000 runs in 87 IPL matches.
