The WPL will surely set a benchmark in Indian women’s cricket history. The tournament will feature some of the best female cricketers from India and around the world, and it will surely become one of the most popular women’s T20 cricket leagues in the world.

The inaugural edition of Women’s Premier League is set to be played from 4th to 26th March 2023. A total of 22 matches will be played in this League, all at Brabourne Stadium & D.Y. Patil Stadium.

Here are 5 ways through which Women’s Cricket, especially Indian Women’s Cricket, would be affected in a ‘Good Way’ by WPL:

    1. The popularity of Indian women cricketers will increase, which in turn will increase the popularity of Indian Women’s Cricket.

    2. With increase in the popularity of Indian Women’s Cricket, Indian female cricketers who come from disadvantageous backgrounds will also get recognition.

    3. Young Indian female cricketers will get the experience to play against world-class cricketers, which in turn will help them at the international level.

    4. Female cricketers who are financially weak will get monetary help in the form of WPL income.

    5. WPL will enforce other Cricket Nations to build their Women’s League too which will overall increase the popularity of Women’s Cricket.
