India’s tour of New Zealand 2026 starts on Thursday, October 22, with the first T20I at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Over the next six weeks, the two teams will play 12 international matches across all three formats: five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests. The tour ends with the second Test in Christchurch on December 1.
Because of the time difference, Indian fans will be watching at very different hours depending on the format. The T20Is start in the afternoon in India, the ODIs early in the morning, and the Tests in the middle of the night. This guide covers the full India vs New Zealand 2026 schedule with start times in IST, every venue, and the squads for all three formats.

Hagley Oval, Christchurch
Hagley Oval hosts three matches, the most of any venue on the tour, including the final Test. The ground is known for helping seam bowlers, especially in the first session, and the weather in Christchurch can change quickly in late spring.
Eden Park, Auckland
Eden Park is famous for its short straight boundaries, which makes it one of the toughest grounds for bowlers in white-ball cricket. High scores are common here, which could make the 4th T20I and the 1st ODI big-scoring games.
Basin Reserve, Wellington
The historic Basin Reserve hosts the first Test. Strong winds from the Wellington harbour often play a big part here, and seamers who can use the conditions tend to do well, especially on the first two days.
Seddon Park, Hamilton, and Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui
Seddon Park hosts a T20I and an ODI, while Bay Oval hosts the last two ODIs back to back. Both grounds usually offer good batting surfaces in white-ball games, with Bay Oval also known for its relatively small boundaries.
Hnry Stadium, Wellington
Wellington’s main stadium, earlier known as Sky Stadium, hosts the 3rd T20I and the 2nd ODI. Wind is again a key factor here, and bowlers often have to adjust their lines depending on which end they bowl from.
