In a fiery moment during the World Test Championship (WTC) final between Australia and India, Mohammed Siraj found himself in a war of words with Australian batsman Steve Smith. As Australia dominated Day 1 with a formidable partnership between Travis Head and Smith, tensions ran high on the second day as well.
Opening the bowling for India, Siraj had a face-off with Smith. However, Smith moved away just as Siraj was about to deliver the ball, causing the Indian pacer to halt his run-up. Frustrated by the interruption, Siraj threw the ball towards Smith, leading to an exchange of words between the two players.

Smith attributed his action to the distraction caused by the spider cam, which obstructed his view and compelled him to stop playing the shot. Unsatisfied with Smith’s explanation, Siraj continued to voice his discontent whenever he bowled to the Australian batsman.
Amidst the verbal sparring, India managed to claim a couple of wickets in the first session of the day, including the dismissal of Smith, who fell victim to Shardul Thakur’s bowling. The intense confrontation between Siraj and Smith added an extra layer of drama to the enthralling WTC final.
