After the announcement of the Indian squad for the upcoming Asian Games in China, KKR captain Nitish Rana found himself left out of the team. The squad, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, includes players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, and Jitesh Sharma. Disappointed by his omission, Rana took to social media and posted a heartbreak emoji, expressing his emotions.
Rana had a commendable performance in the Indian Premier League 2023, scoring 413 runs in 14 matches for the Kolkata Knight Riders. However, despite his contributions in the domestic tournament, he did not secure a spot in the Asian Games squad.
The standby players for the Asian Games include Yash Thakur, Sai Kishore, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, and Sai Sudarsan, who will be ready to step in if needed.

This incident comes after Sarfaraz Khan also expressed his disappointment through social media when he was not selected for the Test squad in the two-match series against the West Indies.
It remains to be seen how Rana and Sarfaraz will respond to these setbacks and whether they will use this as motivation to prove themselves in future opportunities.
