Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah responded to a touching gesture from Pakistan’s left-arm fast bowler, Shaheen Afridi, during their encounter in Colombo. Bumrah expressed his appreciation and gratitude after receiving a heartfelt gift from Shaheen Afridi on Sunday, September 10.
During the Super Four match at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi faced each other. After persistent rain forced the match to be called off, the two-star pacers interacted, and Afridi presented special gifts to Bumrah during their meeting.
A video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board on X (formerly Twitter) captured the moment when Afridi approached Bumrah near the stands in the stadium. Shaheen congratulated Bumrah on the birth of his first child.
Love and peace. Congratulations @Jaspritbumrah93 and family on the birth of your child. Prayers for the entire family. We battle on the field. Off the field we are just your regular humans. pic.twitter.com/SyHtK7wfvA

Jasprit Bumrah is yet to bowl in the Asia Cup 2023. He made his return to ODI cricket during the group stage match against Pakistan in Pallekele last week but did not get a chance to bowl due to the match being called off due to rain. Bumrah returned home to celebrate the birth of his first child, Angad, with his wife, Sanjana Ganesan. He replaced Mohammed Shami in the playing XI for the game against Pakistan.
