Fakhar Zaman, born on April 10, 1990, is a renowned Pakistani cricketer who represents the Pakistan national cricket team. Additionally, he is a key player for the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League.

Fakhar Zaman gained widespread recognition and acclaim following his remarkable century during the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. His standout performance in the final, where he scored an impressive 114 runs off 106 balls, earned him the well-deserved title of “Man of the Match.”

Fakhar Zaman’s father is Faqir Gul, while his mother’s name remains undisclosed. He has two brothers named Asif and Gohar Zaman. Fakhar is married to Sania Khan.

Fakhar Zaman, born on April 10, 1990, in Katlang within the Mardan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, embarked on a unique journey that blended his love for cricket and service to his country. At the age of 16, he made a significant move to Karachi after completing his matriculation. In 2007, Fakhar embarked on an entirely different path by joining the Pakistan Navy as a sailor. His schooling and sea training took place at the Pakistan Navy School, Bahadur.

Interestingly, this career choice was largely influenced by his father, who sought to redirect Fakhar’s childhood cricket passion towards academic pursuits. However, Fakhar’s dedication to cricket remained steadfast. His name, “Fakhar,” literally means “pride,” a moniker that aptly suits his achievements. Within his cricketing circles, he is affectionately known by the nickname “fauji,” which means “soldier.”

In 2012, Fakhar Zaman represented the navy at the International Defence Cricket Challenge Cup held in Australia, where he distinguished himself as the tournament’s best player. His cricketing prowess was further acknowledged in 2020 when the navy honored him with the honorary rank of Lieutenant, recognizing his significant contributions to the sport.
