Born on December 22, 1995, Imam-ul-Haq is a renowned Pakistani international cricketer. He achieved a significant milestone in his debut One Day International (ODI) match against Sri Lanka, becoming the second Pakistani and the thirteenth player globally to score a century on their debut.

In August 2018, Imam-ul-Haq was among the 33 players who received central contracts from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the 2018–19 season, highlighting his importance in the national cricketing landscape.

Imam-ul-Haq was born in Multan on December 22, 1995. Imam-ul-Haq is the son of Insaram-ul-Haq and Farah Insaram. Notably, he is the nephew of the former Pakistan captain, Inzamam-ul-Haq. Their family’s roots trace back to the city of Hansi in what is now the Indian state of Haryana, with their ancestors having migrated to Pakistan in 1947.

In October 2017, Imam-ul-Haq was selected for Pakistan’s ODI squad to face Sri Lanka. He made a memorable ODI debut on October 18, 2017, against Sri Lanka, scoring a century and earning the well-deserved title of “Man of the Match.” This achievement made him the second Pakistani batsman, following Saleem Elahi, to score an ODI hundred on debut.

In April 2018, he was named in Pakistan’s Test squad for their tours to Ireland and England, and he made his Test debut against Ireland on May 11, 2018. During this debut Test, he contributed significantly by scoring a crucial half-century in the final innings, which played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s victory.

On July 20, 2018, during the fourth ODI against Zimbabwe, Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman recorded the highest opening partnership in ODIs, amassing 304 runs. This partnership led Pakistan to achieve their highest-ever ODI score, finishing at 399 for the loss of one wicket.

In January 2019, during the third ODI against South Africa, Imam-ul-Haq became the second-fastest batsman to reach 1,000 runs in ODIs, accomplishing this milestone in his 19th innings.

He was also part of Pakistan’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup and made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against England in May 2019. Prior to the World Cup, Imam’s standout performance included scoring 151 runs in the ODI series against England, which marked the highest individual total for a Pakistan batsman against England in an ODI.

In June 2020, he was named in a 29-man squad for Pakistan’s tour to England amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In July, he was shortlisted in Pakistan’s 20-man squad for the Test matches against England. In July 2021, during the third ODI against England, Imam-ul-Haq reached his 2,000th run in ODI cricket.

March 2022 witnessed Imam’s inaugural century in Test cricket during the opening match of the series against Australia. In the same series, he scored another century in the second innings, becoming the tenth Pakistani batter to achieve this feat – scoring a century in both innings of a Test match.

Fast forward to August 22, 2023, in the opening match of the 3-match ODI series against Afghanistan, Imam-ul-Haq played a crucial innings, scoring 61 runs. This performance was vital as Pakistan’s batting lineup faced a collapse. Pakistan secured victory by 142 runs, with Imam leading the run tally.
