Pope’s cricket journey includes his education at Cranleigh School, where he is the great-great-great-great-grandson of the school’s inaugural headmaster, Joseph Merriman. Signing a two-year professional contract with Surrey on August 26, 2016, Pope made his List A debut just two days later in the semi-final of the 2016 Royal London One-Day Cup against Yorkshire.
