The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is just around the corner, set to begin on February 19. The tournament will be hosted by Pakistan, with the final scheduled for March 9. India has had a good history in this ICC event.

This will be the 9th edition of the Champions Trophy. So far, India and Australia have each won the title twice. The first-ever Champions Trophy in 2002 was jointly won by India and Sri Lanka, and India secured the title again in 2013 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. The 2017 edition, held in England, saw Pakistan win their first Champions Trophy. The 2021 tournament was postponed due to COVID-19, and after an 8-year gap, the tournament is returning this year.

5 Teams India Has Never Lost to in Champions Trophy

India has an excellent record in the Champions Trophy, having played 29 matches so far, winning 18, losing 8, and 3 ending in no result. India holds the record for the most wins in the tournament.

When looking at India’s record against other teams in the history of the tournament, five teams have never managed to defeat India: South Africa, England, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, and Kenya.

India and Pakistan have faced each other 5 times in the Champions Trophy. India has won 2 of those encounters, while Pakistan has won 3.

15 Matches Between 8 Teams in Champions Trophy 2025

The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will feature 8 teams and a total of 15 matches. These teams will be divided into two groups. India and Pakistan are in Group A, along with New Zealand and Bangladesh. Group B will consist of South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan, and England.

Each team will play 3 matches in their respective group, and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The first semi-final will take place in Dubai, while the second will be held in Lahore. If any team reaches the final, they will have played a total of 5 matches in the tournament.

The 15 matches will be held across 4 venues, with 3 of them in Pakistan and one in Dubai. India will play all its matches in Dubai. If India qualifies, the final will also be held in Dubai. Otherwise, the final will take place in Lahore on March 9.

There is also a reserve day for both the semi-finals and the final. The first semi-final will be played in Dubai, and the second will be in Lahore. In total, 10 matches, including one semi-final, will be played in Pakistan, with venues in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.
