A historic moment unfolded in the T20 Tri-Series 2025 being held in Glasgow, Scotland, when the second T20 match between Nepal and the Netherlands not only ended in a tie but also witnessed three Super Overs — a first in cricket history. This thrilling encounter, played at the Titwood ground, took the excitement levels of fans to a whole new level.

Three Super Overs in One Match

Batting first, the Netherlands scored 152 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Nepal’s spinners, especially Sandeep Lamichhane and Lalit Rajbanshi, bowled impressively and prevented the Netherlands from putting up a bigger total. In reply, Nepal also scored 152 runs, losing 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Nandan Yadav hit a four on the final ball to level the score, taking the match into a Super Over.

    Super Over Drama

In the first Super Over, Nepal scored 19 runs. The Netherlands responded with the same score, tying the Super Over. In the second Super Over, both teams once again scored equally — 17 runs each — making the contest even more intense. The match then moved to a third Super Over, which had never happened before in cricket history. This time, Nepal couldn’t score and lost both wickets quickly. The Netherlands then hit a six on the very first ball to secure the win.

    Key Performers for the Netherlands

Teja Nidamanuru was the top scorer for the Netherlands with 35 runs, followed by Vikramjit Singh who made 30, and Saqib Zulfiqar who added 25 runs. In bowling, Daniel Doram stood out with 3 wickets for just 14 runs in 4 overs. Vikramjit Singh also took 2 wickets, while Jack Lyon-Cachet, Ben Fletcher, and Kyle Klein claimed one wicket each.
