Aakash Chopra discusses the possible combination of Team India for the crucial decider against West Indies in the ODI series. He suggests that in order to win the series, India should bring back Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, which would likely mean the end of giving opportunities to Sanju Samson or Suryakumar Yadav.
The ongoing series between India and West Indies is tied at 1-1, surprising many, as India was expected to secure a 3-0 victory against a team that hasn’t qualified for the ICC World Cup 2023.
The experimentation with the batting order in the first two ODIs has caused concerns for India, as they struggled to chase down a low total in the first game and faced a humiliating defeat in the second after resting key players.
Aakash Chopra emphasizes that if Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return for the third game, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, and Axar Patel might lose their spots. He suggests that if India chose to experiment in the first two matches, they should continue with the same approach in the third game, giving more opportunities to players who haven’t had enough game time.

He also highlights India’s surplus of bowling options and recommends dropping one bowler to add an extra batter in the team, considering that some bowlers haven’t had enough opportunities to bowl in the series. The series decider between India and West Indies is scheduled for 1st August.
