Adil Usman Rashid MBE, born on February 17, 1988, is an accomplished English cricketer who represents England in One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket, and he previously played for the Test team. In the realm of domestic cricket, he proudly wears the Yorkshire jersey and has showcased his talents in various Twenty20 leagues. Notably, in the 2023 Indian Premier League auction, he was acquired by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 2 Crore.
Rashid made his debut in ODI and T20I formats in 2009, and he contributed to the Test team between 2015 and 2019. He was a vital part of the England squads that clinched victory in the 2019 Cricket World Cup and the 2022 T20 World Cup.
As a cricketer, Rashid is known for his right-arm leg-break bowling. He holds the distinction of being England’s highest wicket-taker among spin bowlers in both ODIs and T20Is. In T20Is, he is the second-highest wicket-taker for England, trailing only behind Chris Jordan. Furthermore, he, along with Jos Buttler, shares the world record for the highest seventh-wicket partnership in ODIs, having scored 177 runs against New Zealand in 2015.
In 2023, Rashid was honored with an MBE in the Birthday Honours list of King Charles III.

Interestingly, cricket runs in the Rashid family, as his brothers Haroon and Amar are also cricketers.
