As a disciplinary measure, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has chosen not to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to certain players for overseas franchise-based leagues in the next two years. This decision comes in response to the players expressing a desire to be released from their central contracts.
According to an ESPNcricinfo report, the ACB has taken action against these players, reproving all three for prioritizing franchise-based leagues over Afghanistan cricket. A committee has been established to investigate the matter.
Despite being successfully acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at his base price of INR 2 crore in the recent IPL auction, Mujeeb’s participation is uncertain due to the potential denial of an NOC by the ACB. This uncertainty may lead KKR to explore alternative options given Mujeeb’s potential absence from the competition.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) released the experienced leg-spinner Adil Rashid prior to the auction, where he remained unsold. Despite a relatively modest IPL career, securing only two wickets in three matches, Rashid’s extensive experience and skill set position him as a valuable option for KKR.
With a wealth of experience at 35, Rashid could enhance KKR’s bowling attack, offering depth and variety in the spin department and providing a reliable option for strategic play.
