After defeating Zimbabwe, now Team India will face Sri Lanka. On the Sri Lanka tour, the Indian team has to play a three-match T20 series and an ODI series of the same number of matches. India’s Sri Lanka tour will begin with the first T20 on July 27. Team India will play a total of 6 matches in 12 days in Sri Lanka.
The first match of the three-match T20 series will be played between India and Sri Lanka on July 27. Then the second T20 match will be played the next day i.e. on July 28 and the third and final T20 match will be played on July 30. All the matches of the T20 series will be played in Pallekele. After the T20 series, a three-match ODI series will be played between the two teams from August 2. The second match of the ODI series will be played on August 4 and the third match will be played on August 7. All the matches of the ODI series will be played in Colombo.
The team against Sri Lanka may be different from Zimbabwe
The BCCI had selected a very young team for Zimbabwe. Shubman Gill was the captain of Team India in the five-match series. At the same time, many young players like Riyan Parag, Tushardesh Pandey and Abhishek Sharma were part of this team. The Indian team won the five-match T20 series in Zimbabwe 4-1. Still, the team for the T20 series on the Sri Lanka tour can be completely different. Hardik Pandya can be the captain of the team in the series against Sri Lanka. At the same time, star players like Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammad Siraj can also return.
Rohit Sharma can be the captain in the ODI series
Rohit Sharma can be the captain of Team India in the ODI series in Sri Lanka. Also, Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli can also be a part of this series. However, a report also claimed that KL Rahul will be the captain in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. At the same time, senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja will be given rest.
