Andile Phehlukwayo Family

Andile Lucky Phehlukwayo, born on March 3, 1996, is a prominent South African cricketer. He is recognized for his role as a left-handed lower-order batsman who excels in right-arm fast-medium bowling. Phehlukwayo made his international debut for South Africa in September 2016.

Andile Phehlukwayo’s Parents are Lucky Phehlukwayo and Thando Phehlukwayo. He has a cousin named Okuhle Cele who is also a professional cricketer. Cele currently plays for Northerns.

Andile Phehlukwayo appears to be a romantic and caring partner to his lovely girlfriend, Khanya May Apelgren. Despite this, he has not publicly announced their relationship or shared any photos of his girlfriend. As of now, they are not married but remain content and joyful in their love for each other.

Phehlukwayo earned a bursary to attend Glenwood High School in Durban, initially for field hockey. It was through his guardian, Rosemary Dismore, who employed his mother as a domestic worker, that he was introduced to the sport of cricket.

In January 2014, Phehlukwayo earned a spot in South Africa’s 15-man squad for the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

Subsequently, Phehlukwayo was included in the KwaZulu-Natal cricket team’s roster for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup.

In August 2017, Phehlukwayo was named in Jo’burg Giants’ squad for the inaugural season of the T20 Global League. However, in October 2017, Cricket South Africa initially postponed the tournament until November 2018, eventually leading to its cancellation.

In September 2018, Phehlukwayo found himself in KwaZulu-Natal’s squad for the 2018 Africa T20 Cup. During the tournament, he emerged as the leading wicket-taker for KwaZulu-Natal, amassing ten dismissals in four matches.

Come October 2018, Phehlukwayo was named in Cape Town Blitz’s squad for the first edition of the Mzansi Super League T20 tournament. In September 2019, he was named in the Durban Heat team’s squad for the 2019 Mzansi Super League tournament. His cricket journey continued as he was selected for KwaZulu-Natal’s squad in April 2021, ahead of the 2021–22 cricket season in South Africa.

On March 27, 2022, during Division One of the 2021–22 CSA One-Day Cup, Phehlukwayo achieved a significant milestone by scoring his first century in List A cricket, ending with an impressive 100 not out.

He is part of the 2023 World Cup squad of South Africa.
