The third Test match between England (ENG) and Australia (AUS) is set to take place at Headingley, Leeds from July 6. Australia, who currently hold a 2-0 lead in the Ashes 2023 series, only need a draw to secure the Ashes title. They are considered favorites for this match following a strong performance at Lord’s. Notably, Australia has remained undefeated against England in their last five Test matches. However, Australia will be without the injured Nathan Lyon for the Headingley Test.
England, led by Ben Stokes, have already announced their playing eleven for the third Test. Ollie Pope, James Anderson, and Josh Tongue will be replaced by Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, and Mark Wood in the team.
Headingley Leeds Pitch Report
The pitch at Headingley is known to be favorable for batting in Test cricket. Both teams, particularly England, have displayed an aggressive approach in this series, which contributed to the first two matches producing results on the final day. The Headingley pitch is anticipated to offer additional bounce and pace during the initial two or three days when the new ball is in play. However, right from the first day, the conditions are expected to be advantageous for batsmen, making it a game that heavily favors the batters.
