The Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to commence on September 2 and wrap up on September 17. In contrast to the previous season, this edition of the Asia Cup will be conducted using the 50-over format. This adjustment allows the participating teams to effectively ready themselves for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup in October.

In the upcoming edition of the tournament, Babar Azam will assume the role of captain for Pakistan.

Sri Lanka currently holds the title of defending champions after their victory over Pakistan in the final of the previous season. With the advantage of playing on their home turf, the Pakistan team is determined to secure the championship this time, boasting a formidable lineup for the upcoming tournament.
