Will Pakistan Opt Out of Asia Cup 2023?

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Ali Sethi has stated that Pakistan won’t give up its rights of hosting the Asia Cup 2023. PCB has developed a hybrid mode for the tournament in which they proposed that the matches involving India could be played in UAE while the rest of the matches can be played in Pakistan.

The proposal could not get the approval in a recently concluded ACC meeting as according to a report by Geo Super Indian government wants the entire tournament to be held at a different venue. On the other hand, PCB has said that it will back out of the tournament if the entire Asia Cup 2023 is shifted away. There are also possibilities of Pakistan skipping the ODI World Cup 2023 if the tensions continue to escalate.
