Asia Cup 2023 Team India Squad: Samson, Gaikwad & Mukesh Kumar to Miss Out

Umran Malik will be shown the door, while Mukesh Kumar and Ruturaj Gaikwad are also expected to be dropped.

Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to start on 30th August 2023, with a clash between Pakistan and Nepal. This time around, the tournament is going to be played in a hybrid format. Pakistan’s matches will take place in Pakistan except for the game versus India. A total of four matches are scheduled to be played in Pakistan. Both the semi-finals and the final of Asia Cup 2023 are going to be held in Sri Lanka. The blockbuster match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be played on 2nd September 2023. Team India’s squad for Asia Cup 2023 is highly awaited, and fans of the ICT are looking forward to seeing their favourite players make a return.

Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul are expected to mark their respective comebacks in Asia Cup 2023. However, Shreyas Iyer is still doubtful for the tournament as he is still not completely fit after the back surgery. His participation remains doubtful, and there is a high chance of him missing out on the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 as well. On the other hand, Rishabh Pant is on the road to recovery, but he is ruled out of the Asia Cup and World Cup.

India is expected to drop Sanju Samson from the squad in order to make a place for KL Rahul. Ishan Kishan will be the second-choice wicketkeeper in the Asia Cup 2023 squad. Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya are going to be the frontline all-rounders. Mohammed Siraj will make a return after getting a rest in the series against West Indies. Umran Malik will be shown the door, while Mukesh Kumar and Ruturaj Gaikwad are also expected to be dropped.
