    The Asia Cup 2023 will see its second match of the tournament between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.  Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka on 31st August at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Shakib Al Hasan is the skipper of Bangladesh, while Dasun Shanaka is the captain of Sri Lanka.

    Bangladesh won three out of their recent five ODI matches while Sri Lanka won all of their last five ODI games. These two teams have played 51 matches against each other in this format so far where Sri Lanka won 40 matches while Bangladesh managed to secure 9 wins.

    1) Shakib Al Hasan

    2) Shoriful Islam

    Shoriful Islam will be the bowler to watch out for from the Bangladeshi side. He made his debut in 2021 and so far has played 17 ODIs for his team. The left-arm pacer has 26 wickets in ODIs thus far with a best of 4/21 and an economy of 5.57.

    3) Matheesha Pathirana

    Another player from Sri Lanka who has left a lasting impression with his cricketing talent is Matheesha Pathirana. With an economy rate of 6.48 and best bowling figures of 2/18 underlines his potential as a rising star in the bowling department.

    4) Mehidy Hasan

    Mehidy Hasan is a versatile all-rounder from Bangladesh who boasts 888 runs and 88 wickets in 77 matches, showcasing his versatile prowess. His best bowling figure of 4/25 underscores his effectiveness with the ball, adding to his significant contributions on the field.

    5) Dhananjaya de Silva

    In the eagerly awaited clash between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Dhananjaya de Silva emerges as a key player to watch. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-break bowler from Sri Lanka. He has smashed 1653 runs and grabbed 41 wickets in his 76 matches ODI career so far.
