Ruturaj Gaikwad has set his sights on winning the gold medal and experiencing the proud moment of standing on the podium and singing the national anthem. Gaikwad expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity given to him by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a video shared on Facebook Watch.

With India participating in the men’s cricket event at the Asian Games for the first time, Gaikwad emphasized the significance of representing the country and the inspiration drawn from watching athletes win medals for India. He stated that winning the gold medal would be the ultimate dream for the team.

Gaikwad also expressed his gratitude to the BCCI, the management, and the selectors for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the squad in such a prestigious event. He described it as a proud moment and a great opportunity for him personally and the entire team.

The Indian T20I squad for the Asian Games features several talented youngsters, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Ravi Bishnoi, Prabhsimran Singh, and Shivam Mavi. Gaikwad spoke highly of the team spirit among the young players, highlighting their camaraderie and the fun they have had playing together in various tournaments.

The Asian Games cricket tournament is set to commence on September 28 in China, with India starting directly in the quarterfinals. As the captain, Gaikwad will lead the team in their pursuit of the gold medal, hoping to create a historic moment for Indian cricket.
