England faces early concerns in the 2024 T20 World Cup after their game against Scotland was abandoned and Scotland’s win over Namibia put them atop the group. A loss to Australia would complicate matters for the defending champions ahead of their 17th match.

Australia, tested by Oman on a slow Barbados wicket, relied on David Warner and Marcus Stoinis to secure a win. Both teams must adapt to challenging pitch conditions, with England needing to recover from their disrupted start and Australia potentially reconsidering their aggressive strategy.

In the four World Cup matches hosted by Barbados so far, including the abandoned England-Scotland game, the highest first innings total has been Australia’s 164 against Oman. In another match, Scotland chased down Namibia’s 155 in 18.3 overs. A total of 170-180 could prove to be a winning score at this venue. Rain is forecast for the morning and around match time.
