Ravindra Jadeja was the star of the 1st Test match between India and Australia at Nagpur. He was named player of the match for his great performance with bat and ball. Jadeja picked a fifer and scored a half-century to ensure India’s win.
There was a lot of ruckus on social media about the Nagpur Stadium pitch before the match started, and many Aussie veterans were claiming that India had prepared a pitch which would only benefit their spinners. However, the Nagpur pitch did not spin that much and provided a surface that was even for the bat and ball.

Ravindra Jadeja said, “they had spotted the rough from the flight itself. The atmosphere they created that it would spin, it didn’t spin much. Australia got out more to straight balls”.
Ian Chappell, the former Australian cricketer, has also said that the Nagpur pitch was not impossible to play on, and Australia lost due to a lack of fighting spirit.
