Australia has revealed their 18-player squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India, with uncapped leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha and all-rounder Aaron Hardie being the surprise inclusions. Interestingly, Test star Marnus Labuschagne has been left out.

Captain Pat Cummins is recovering from a fractured wrist, but the selectors see the enforced rest as beneficial before the tournament. The team will get ready with a series against South Africa, providing chances for Tanveer and Hardie to impress. The squad is confident in their balanced composition and aims to secure their sixth World Cup title.

Australia has unveiled an all-rounder heavy squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, featuring a formidable lineup including Mitchell Marsh, Cameron Green, Marcus Stoinis, Aaron Hardie, Ashton Agar, Sean Abbott, and Glenn Maxwell.

Chief selector George Bailey believes the team’s well-balanced composition makes them confident in their pursuit of a sixth World Cup title.

The squad announced is only the preliminary or provisional selection, and it can undergo several changes before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. According to ICC regulations, World Cup squads must be finalized before September 28. As the tournament approaches, there is a possibility of adjustments and fine-tuning to ensure the best possible team composition.
