In a recent interview on the Club Prairie Fire podcast hosted by Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan, star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh made a surprising prediction about the World Cup 2023 Final. Marsh, who is currently leading the Australian side in the AUS vs SA ODIs due to the absence of Pat Cummins and Steve Smith, snubbed India and England as favorites and instead predicted that Australia and Pakistan would face off in the blockbuster final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19.
Former England skipper Vaughan questioned Marsh about the potential winner, presenting India, Pakistan, or England as options. Marsh confidently responded, “I honestly think that it will be Australia vs. Pakistan in the final.”

Australia’s recent performance has been impressive, with a 4-0 T20I series whitewash of South Africa and a 1-0 lead in the ongoing 5-match ODI series. However, the Australian team is facing challenges with several key players nursing injuries, including skipper Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Steve Smith, and Glenn Maxwell. Despite these setbacks, Australia has already announced its 15-man squad for the World Cup 2023, with the notable exclusion of Marnus Labuschagne.
