With Ben Stokes opting out of IPL 2024 to get treated and Ambati Rayudu taking retirement from all forms of cricket, Chennai Super Kings need an attacking middle order batter. Even though Ben Stokes could not do much for the Super Kings, Ambati Rayudu played a few significant match winning knocks in the middle overs for them.

Daryl Mitchell could be the perfect fit for Chennai Super Kings. The all-rounder from New Zealand is known for his attacking batting approach and is currently in the form of his life. He was one of the highest run-getters in the recently concluded ODI World Cup in India. Mitchell is a very good player of spin and that makes him even more suitable for the decks prepared in Chennai.

Moreover, Mitchell can also bowl a couple of overs for the Chennai Super Kings to add even more impetus to their bowling department. Mitchell is definitely going to be a hot pick in this year’s auction and many times are expected to go after him including Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings.

Daryl Mitchell is definitely walking away with more than Rs 5 Crore from this auction. It remains to be seen whether Chennai Super Kings will go all out for him. The IPL 2024 Auction is going to be held in Dubai on December 19, 2023.
