Daniel Vettori, the former New Zealand captain, has taken on the role of head coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in an effort to revive the team’s fortunes after a disappointing IPL 2023. During that season, Sunrisers finished at the bottom of the points table, securing only four wins and suffering ten losses.

Daniel Vettori has stepped in as the new head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad, taking over from Brian Lara, who had assumed the role after Tom Moody’s tenure ahead of the 2023 IPL. The franchise hopes that Vettori’s leadership and expertise will bring a positive turnaround after their disappointing performance in the last season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad expressed their farewell to Brian Lara as their two-year association with him concluded. The franchise acknowledged his contributions and extended gratitude for his services. They conveyed their best wishes for Brian Lara’s future endeavors in a statement.
At the age of 44, Vettori served as the head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2014 to 2018, and more recently, he held the position of assistant coach for the Australia men’s team.
