David Jonathan Willey, born on 28th February 1990, is an English cricketer who represents the national team at the international level. He is known for his skills as a left-handed batsman and bowler. Notably, he is the son of the former England cricketer and international umpire, Peter Willey. Willey was a crucial part of the England squad that achieved victory in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Carolynne Willey, born on 5th August 1980 in Leeds, England, is a versatile British talent known for her roles as a singer-songwriter, actress, and former model. She was a founding member of the Carolynne Good Band, which had a presence in Leeds and London. Carolynne gained recognition when she finished in third place on the second series of the BBC singing competition Fame Academy in 2003.
Her journey continued as she participated in The X Factor in 2011, advancing to the judges’ houses’ stage. She returned to the show in the following series in 2012 and made it to the live shows, although she was eventually eliminated after the first live performance following a sing-off against Rylan Clark.
Carolynne Good, her maiden name, was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, and attended Pudsey Grangefield High School. She was previously married to footballer David Poole. However, in August 2015, she announced that she was in a relationship with England cricketer David Willey, whom she later married in November 2016.
Carolynne’s early musical influences included iconic acts such as The Eagles, U2, The Carpenters, and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Her journey in the music industry led her to auditions for S Club 7 in 1998. She later joined and fronted a five-member country music band, touring the UK. In 2001, she signed her first publishing contract with BMG Music Publishing.
In 2003, Carolynne Poole gained widespread recognition when she participated in the second series of the BBC’s Fame Academy, reaching the final stage. Her songwriting talents were showcased when a song she co-wrote with fellow contestants, titled “Not Your Average Kind of Girl,” was included on Alex Parks’ debut album Introduction. This album achieved significant success in the UK and other countries, earning platinum and gold certifications.
Afterwards, Carolynne continued to write songs and toured with Tony Christie in the UK. In 2005, she formed the Carolynne Good Band, which blended traditional singer-songwriter melodies with a country flavor.
Beyond music, Carolynne Willey ventured into acting, with appearances in pantomime, short films, and feature films like “The Last Days of Edgar Harding” in which she played the character Frankie.
