Despite losing in the semi-finals, the Afghan team will still get a huge money from the ICC

Afghanistan defeated a strong team like New Zealand in its group stage. After this, the team secured a place in the Super-8 round by registering a win against Uganda and Papua New Guinea. Where the Afghan team faced teams like Australia, Bangladesh and India. Everyone was assuming that the teams of Australia and India would reach the semi-finals from this group.

After this, they defeated the Bangladesh team by 8 runs and secured a place in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup for the first time. For a team like Afghanistan, making it to the semi-finals was no less than a miracle.

This time ICC will distribute a total of 11.25 million dollars as prize money for the T20 World Cup. Which is INR 20.36 crore. The team that loses the semi-final will get INR 6.55 crore. Apart from this, the team will get INR 25.9 lakh for winning every match except the final and semi-final match.

Now if the Afghan team has lost in the semi-finals, they will get INR 6.55 crore and they have won five matches till the semi-finals. So the team will get INR 129.5 lakh for winning five matches. In this way, Afghanistan will get a total of INR 7.84 crore as prize money in the T20 World Cup.
