Dhananjaya de Silva Family- Parents, Siblings, Kids

Dhananjaya Maduranga de Silva, commonly referred to as Dhananjaya de Silva, was born on September 6, 1991. He is a seasoned Sri Lankan cricketer who represents Sri Lanka across all formats of the game. In addition to his international career, Dhananjaya also competes for Tamil Union in domestic cricket. He holds the significant role of vice-captain for the Sri Lankan national team in both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test matches. An impressive achievement in his career came in November 2017 when he was honored with the title of Test batsman of the year for the 2016–17 season at Sri Lanka Cricket’s annual awards.

Dhananjaya de Silva was born on September 6, 1991, in Hambantota, where he grew up as the second of three brothers. He initiated his cricket journey at Deberawewa National School in Tissamaharama, Hambanthota. Later, when his family moved to Galle, he briefly attended Mahanama College in Colombo before transferring to Richmond College in Galle.

During his time at Richmond College, Galle, Dhananjaya actively participated in senior school cricket and even had the honor of captaining the Richmond first XI cricket team during the 2010/2011 season.

Tragically, Dhananjaya de Silva’s father, Ranjan de Silva, was a politician who faced a devastating incident. On May 25, 2018, his father was tragically killed by an unidentified assailant in front of their Ratmalana residence. Following this sudden and distressing loss, Dhananjaya initially withdrew from the Sri Lankan squad for the West Indies tour. However, he later decided to rejoin the tour, participating from the second match onwards.

Sanduni Nisansala and Dhananjaya de Silva shared a long history before tying the knot on December 3, 2018. They welcomed their daughter, Aanya de Silva, into the world on January 9, 2022. Aanya’s social media presence is managed by her parents, and she boasts a substantial following.

Unlike many other cricket players’ spouses, Sanduni Nisansala prefers to maintain a low profile on social media. She doesn’t have any active social media accounts and tends to stay out of the public eye. Since her marriage to cricketer Dhananjaya in 2018, she occasionally appears in Dhananjaya’s social media posts. She is also seen enjoying moments with her daughter on Aanya’s social media account.
