Dinesh Karthik receives high praise from MS Dhoni for his commentary skills: “I was happy he enjoyed it”

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni compliments Dinesh Karthik's commentary during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and praises his analytical insights on the game.

Apart from being a dynamic finisher for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Dinesh Karthik has also emerged as a renowned cricket commentator. He stunned viewers with his commentary skills during the 2021 World Test Championship final and India’s tour of England. Many speculated that he may retire from cricket, but Karthik had a phenomenal season for RCB and made a triumphant comeback to the Indian team.

Currently, Dinesh Karthik is back in the commentary box for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he has continued to impress everyone. In a recent interview on the RCB podcast, Karthik shared how MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain, complimented him on his commentary skills.

According to Karthik, “My biggest accolade came from the person that I least expected from — MS Dhoni. He called me and said, ‘I really enjoyed the commentary. Very, very good. Well done.’ I was like, ‘Wow, thank you so much.’ So, that is big, you know, obviously, he watches a lot of this sport. And so to hear him say that was really good. And I was happy that he enjoyed my commentary.”

Dinesh Karthik is known for his insightful analysis and in-depth knowledge of the game while doing commentary. He revealed that he focuses on speaking about the game in an analytical manner, trying to convey meaningful insights to viewers.

In just a few weeks, Dinesh Karthik will return to the RCB jersey, aiming to continue his exceptional form from the previous season, where he scored 330 runs in 16 games. With his exemplary performance both on and off the field, Karthik has established himself as a true all-rounder in the world of cricket.
