IPL 2023 is all set to start on March 31 with the opening match between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad. The tournament will be played in its original home and away format for the first time since 2019 and a total of 70 league-stage matches will be played across 12 venues for over 52 days.
This year, everyone can watch the digital streaming of the tournament for free. Until now, only those with a Hotstar subscription could watch the matches online. But this year, the IPL will be streamed on JioCinema in 4K resolution (UltraHD) for free.
But do you know this is not the only time fans will watch IPL for free. In 2010, IPL was broadcasted live on YouTube!
Yes, the same YouTube that you currently use to watch IPL highlights or maybe some domestic live matches.
The Indian Premier League was also the first major sporting event to be broadcasted live on YouTube and all 60 cricket matches were free for the world to watch.
