    England will aim to defend their title in the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023. England is the winner of the ICC ODI World Cup 2019 and the defending champions of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The tournament begins on October 5 in India. The final, which takes place on November 18, will reveal the ultimate champion of ODI cricket. Jos Buttler is expected to lead the England team in ICC ODI World Cup 2023. They won the T20 World Cup last year and have the potential to pull off this tournament too. England team will send a strong set of players for ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

    Here’s The Predicted Playing XI of England Cricket Team:

    1) Jos Buttler (c)

    Jos Buttler will be the skipper of England in the tournament. After leading the team to victory in T20 World Cup, Buttler will aim to grab the ODI World Cup title in his kitty. With 4647 runs across 165 ODIs, he has smacked 11 hundreds and 24 fifties. He will be one of the opener for the English side.

    2) Jason Roy

    Jason Roy can be Jos Buttler’s opening partner in ICC World Cup 2023. The right-handed batter has piled up 4271 runs in 116 matches with 12 centuries and 21 half-centuries. Roy owns a marvelous strike rate of over 105 and averages close to 40.

    3) Dawid Malan

    So far Dawid Malan had an impressive ODI career, where in 18 matches he scored 769 runs at an average of 54.9. He has smashed 4 hundreds and 3 fifties with 134 being his highest score. The England team will largely depend on Malan as he is a senior batter with a lot of experience.

    4) Harry Brook

    Harry Brook is primary middle-order batter in England’s squad for ICC World Cup 2023. Brook is an emerging youngster who accounts for a brilliant show in his ODI career. In 2023, he has slammed a fifty across 3 matches and has shown decent form in the Test format too.

    5) Phil Salt

    Phil Salt has shown a better show so far throughout all the matches where he represented England in ODIs. He has smacked 460 runs in 14 matches at an average of 38.30 with 1 hundred and 2 fifties. He has proved to be a dominant hitter of the ball and can be perfect fit in the England’s middle order.

    6) Liam Livingstone

    Liam Livingstone is a right-handed batter and spin bowler who is capable of bowling both right-arm leg and off spin. He is a powerful hitter of the ball and has shown his hitting capabilities in the IPL matches played in India where he played for the Punjab Kings franchise. His presence in the playing 11 will boost England’s batting and bowling order.   

    7) Jonny Bairstow (wk)

    Jonny Bairstow was out of the field due to a leg injury for the first half of this year. In 95 ODI matches, he has amassed 3634 runs at an average 46.6 with 11 centuries and 15 half-centuries to his name.

    8) Sam Curran

    Sam Curran played a vital role in England’s T20i trump last year. He was awarded with the player of the tournament award. Sam has been equally effective in ODIs too, in 23 ODI matches that he played so far, he has 26 wickets to his name and has scored 318 runs. He is worthy all-rounder.

    9) Moeen Ali

    Moeen Ali is a talented all-rounder with a powerful batting and an impactful bowling option for any playing 11. He has featured in 129 ODIs and has amassed 2212 runs with 3 hundreds and 6 fifties. He has also 99 wickets to his name and with his past experience of playing IPL in India his inclusion in the England’s playing 11.

    10) Adil Rashid

    Adil Rashid will be a crucial spinner for England. With 183 scalps in 125 ODIs, Rashid is a formidable and reliable wicket taking option for England in the ODI World Cup 2023. He is the strongest spinner for England in white-ball formats and is highly expected to be part of the playing 11 in the World Cup.

    11) Mark Wood

    Mark Wood had an impressive IPL season with the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023 and will be one of the crucial player in the England’s playing 11 for the ODI World Cup 2023 in India. He has represented England in 59 ODI matches and scalped 71 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 5.42.
