David Warner is set to join the Fox Cricket commentary panel as part of a $1.5 billion broadcast rights deal between Cricket Australia and Foxtel Group and Seven West Media.
Warner, who is expected to retire from Test cricket this year, has already begun exploring career options following his retirement and will join an all-star panel including Mark Waugh, Mike Hussey, Adam Gilchrist, and Allan Bord.
Foxtel CEO Patrick Delany described Warner as “one of the most exciting cricketers” and said he would bring “more value” to the team of commentators.
Steve Crawley, executive director of Fox Sports, praised Warner as a “classy narrator of the game” and said he was “tailor-made for commentary” in the same way he was made to open the innings for the Australian national team.
