The Gujarat Titans (GT) will begin their IPL 2024 campaign against the five-time champions Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium on March 24. Last year, the Titans eliminated the Indians from the IPL by defeating them at the same venue. However, this time, the Titans will face a new challenge as Hardik Pandya has switched from the Gujarat Titans to the Mumbai Indians.
In addition to hosting the Mumbai Indians, the Gujarat Titans will also host the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the first 15 days of IPL 2024. The GT vs SRH match is scheduled for March 31 at 3:30 pm IST. The GT vs PBKS match will kick off at 7:30 pm IST on April 4. This will be the first time since 2021 that the Punjab Kings will play a match in Ahmedabad.
Looking at Gujarat Titans away matches, they will travel from Ahmedabad to Chennai to face the defending champions Chennai Super Kings on March 26. The Gujarat Titans made several significant additions to their IPL 2024 roster during the IPL 2024 mini-auction. Azmatullah Omarzai from Afghanistan was the first notable addition to the GT Team 2024, secured for just INR 50 lakh. Australia’s Spencer Johnson emerged as their most expensive acquisition at INR 10 crore, alongside Umesh Yadav at INR 5.80 crore and Shahrukh Khan at INR 7.4 crore. Additionally, Sushant Mishra was acquired for INR 2.20 crore, Kartik Tyagi for INR 60 lakh, Manav Suthar for Rs. 20 lakh, and Robin Minz for INR 3.60 crore.
