Huge Rift in Pakistan Team- Ex-cricketer drops hints

Pakistan’s exit from the Asia Cup 2023 has stirred considerable disquiet within the country’s cricket administration. Former cricketers, government officials, and fans have expressed their disappointment with the team’s performance, especially given their status as the No.1 ODI team at the start of the tournament. However, another significant issue has emerged: the growing unpopularity of captain Babar Azam among the players.

Reports from Pakistan media have shed light on the discomfort within the team’s dressing room concerning Babar Azam’s decisions and leadership. Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Moin Khan also addressed this issue on Geo TV, stating that Babar Azam appears isolated on the field.

Moin Khan stressed the importance of resolving these differences before the upcoming World Cup, as addressing issues within the team can foster unity. However, he expressed concern about the airing of dressing room arguments in the media, emphasizing that it’s the responsibility of the coaching staff to intervene in such matters and maintain a cohesive team environment.

Moin Khan highlighted specific incidents that indicated a rift within the team. He mentioned that after Pakistan’s elimination following their loss to Sri Lanka, no player approached Babar Azam. Even notable players like Mohammad Rizwan did not offer support to the captain in the aftermath of the significant defeat.

The lack of unity and players’ disengagement with the captain were evident throughout the tournament, according to Moin Khan. This situation raises questions about team dynamics and the need for effective man-management within the squad.

Pakistan’s exit from the Asia Cup has not only led to criticism of their performance but has also exposed divisions within the team, particularly regarding Babar Azam’s leadership. Resolving these issues and restoring team unity will be essential as Pakistan prepares for the upcoming World Cup.
