Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, has shared his predictions for the semi-finalists of the upcoming 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. Ganguly, who celebrated his 51st birthday recently, identified five teams that he believes have the potential to reach the semi-finals in the tournament, which will be held in India later this year. He expressed his optimism about a highly anticipated match between traditional rivals India and Pakistan taking place at the iconic Eden Gardens stadium as one of the semi-final encounters.
“It’s very hard to say [teams that could make the semi-final],” Ganguly said in an interview on RevSportz.
“Australia, England, India. You can never underestimate New Zealand in these big matches. I will pick five, and include Pakistan also.”

“Pakistan better qualify so that we will have the India-Pakistan semi-final at the Eden Gardens.”
The second semi-final of the World Cup is scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens on November 16, while the other semi-final will be hosted by Mumbai. In the league stage of the tournament, India is slated to play against Pakistan on October 15. However, Ganguly, the ex-captain, expressed his desire for a potential rematch between the two teams in the semi-final stage of the competition.
