The schedule for the 2023 World Cup is nearly complete, according to a senior BCCI official. According to sources it is confirmed that the final schedule will be released within the next 48 hours, as the ICC meeting is scheduled to finalize the remaining details.
One of the main points of disagreement is the venue for the India vs Pakistan match. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is against hosting the match in Ahmedabad, so it is likely to be held in Chennai. Pakistan will play their other league matches in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.
The India vs Pakistan game is expected to be held in Chennai. However, if Pakistan qualifies for the semifinals or final, their matches will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
PCB chairman Najam Sethi communicated to ICC chief Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardice that Pakistan would not participate in matches held in Ahmedabad. He confirmed that the team would still visit India for the tournament.
