India is going to play the 1st Test match of the series against Australia from 9th February 2023 at Nagpur. The Indian cricket team is currently going through a tough choice between Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja. Both are similar types of cricketers, and India will surely look to play only one of them.

IND vs AUS 1st Test: Axar Patel or Ravindra Jadeja, Who Will Be Picked?

Axar Patel has done well for India in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja. He has shined in all three formats during the injury time of Ravindra Jadeja. Last year, he dominated England in his debut Test series and picked a lot of wickets to guide India towards a series victory.

Recently, the Sydney Morning Herald, an Australian Newspaper, claimed that Axar Patel is considered the biggest threat by Aussies in the upcoming Test series. His bowling is being studied extensively by the Australians to avoid giving him any wickets.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja recently took 8 wickets for Saurashtra in his returning match in the Ranji Trophy. He looked fantastic and eager to return to the Indian set-up. However, picking him over Axar Patel is going to be a huge call in the ongoing scenario.

We expect Axar Patel to play the 1st Test ahead of Ravindra Jadeja in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. He has been brilliant and should be rewarded for his skills. Ravindra Jadeja is likely to get the opportunity in the 2nd Test if Axar fails to deliver in the inaugurating Test of the series.
