The Indian opener’s timing and placement were spot on, and he continued to pile on the runs, taking India to a position of strength.

Virat, on the other hand, was his usual aggressive self, scoring 12 runs off just 20 deliveries. He hit a couple of boundaries and was looking in good touch, much to the delight of the Indian fans. With both the batters in the middle, India’s lead looked set to increase and the visitors were in for a long day in the field.
