Star Indian opener Shubman Gill smashed a superb century against Australia in the fourth and final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
In the third Test, Gill was unable to maximize his performance, but in Ahmedabad, he excelled. In red-ball cricket, the young opener hit just his second century for India, directing a partnership of more than 100 runs with Cheteshwar Pujara for the third wicket.
However, just after this knock, ‘KL Rahul’ started trending on Twitter as KL Rahul, who is struggling through a very bad form, was dropped to give Shubman Gill a chance in the 3rd Test.
Chasing Australia’s 480 in the 1st innings, India is now at 289/3 with Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja on crease at 59*(128) and and 16*(54) respectively at the end of Day 3.
While the Test is moving towards a ‘Draw’, Team India will try hard to win it as they have nothing to lose keeping WTC Final’s scenario in mind.
