There has been a lot of talk around pitches in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. While the pitches for the first two Tests were rated ‘average’, the pitch for the 3rd Test was rated ‘Poor’ by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Hence, ahead of the 4th and final Test between India and Australia, the Narendra Modi Stadium pitch has become the center of attention.
A few pictures from the stadium have emerged but the Australian camp hasn’t been able to decide its strategy for the must-win match as the Indian camp seems in a ‘dilemma’ over what kind of pitch they want to be prepared.
Here are some of the latest pictures from the Narendra Modi Stadium:
“We haven’t received any instructions from the Indian team management and our local curators are preparing a normal track, as we have always done through the season,” a state association source was quoted as saying by the news agency PTI.
“Obviously, (over the) last few days the BCCI’s grounds and pitches committee instruct the local curator … but, certainly, from our end, our endeavor is to produce a good Test match pitch.”
Team India will be facing Australia in the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting from 9 March. The match is very important from India’s point-of-view as a win in this match will give them direct qualification for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final.
