The highly-anticipated fourth Test match between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has been filled with gripping moments and thrilling performances. On Day 2, Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin claimed six wickets for just 91 runs to help his team stay in the game.
Speaking to the media after the day’s play, Ashwin expressed his optimism for India’s batting performance on Day 3. The seasoned bowler emphasized the importance of putting a good score on the board in the second innings, especially considering the nature of the pitch. Ashwin even joked that he was looking forward to seeing the top-order batters make runs and have a cup of chai on the day.
While Ashwin was pleased with his six-wicket haul, he acknowledged that Australia held the upper hand after Day 2. Usman Khawaja’s magnificent 180 and Cameron Green’s maiden Test century helped Australia post a challenging total of 480 in their first innings.
