In the first One Day International (ODI) match between India and New Zealand, Indian cricketer Shubhman Gill scored back-to-back centuries, impressing fans, cricket experts, and IPL franchises alike.

Young Indian cricketer Shubman Gill hit his second consecutive century in One Day Internationals (ODIs) during the opening match against New Zealand. Gill hit his century off 87 balls, including 14 fours and 2 sixes.

This marks his third overall century in the 50-over format, with the previous one coming in the last game of the series against Sri Lanka. With this century, Gill also became the fastest player to reach 1000 runs in ODIs.

Gill has quickly established himself as a mainstay in the Indian cricket team and is considered to be one of the most talented batters in the world. He shared a 60-run partnership with captain Rohit Sharma, who contributed 34 runs, while Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan were unable to make a significant impact.

Suryakumar Yadav added 65 runs with Shubhman Gill before getting out to Daryl Mitchell after scoring 31 off 26 balls.

Cricket experts took to Twitter to praise Gill’s performance, with some acknowledging him for his consistency and some praising him for sealing the opening slot in ODIs.

Fans also took to social media to express their excitement about Gill’s performance, with many calling him the “future of Indian cricket.”

IPL franchises also took notice of Gill’s performance, with many expressing their love for the talented young batter.

This impressive performance will have cemented Gill’s place in the Indian cricket team and many looking forward to seeing what he will achieve in the future.
