    After defeating Bangladesh, Team India continued its dominance by crushing Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. Chasing a target of 242 runs, India secured a convincing 6-wicket victory in the 43rd over. Virat Kohli sealed the win with a boundary, completing his century in the process. He remained unbeaten on 100 runs and set multiple records during the match. Let’s take a look at Kohli’s remarkable achievements against Pakistan in Dubai.

    Virat Kohli’s International Cricket Milestone

    Virat Kohli played a stunning knock of 100* off just 11 balls against Pakistan, including 7 boundaries. This marked his 51st ODI century. With this brilliant innings, Kohli became the third-highest run-scorer in international cricket, surpassing Australia’s Ricky Ponting, who had 27,483 runs. Kohli now has 27,500 international runs. The top two positions are held by Sachin Tendulkar (34,357 runs) and Kumar Sangakkara (28,016 runs).

    King of ICC Tournaments – Champions Trophy, World Cup, and Asia Cup

    Before this match, Kohli had played 14 Champions Trophy matches but had never scored a century. However, in his 15th match, he finally broke the drought. With this ton, Kohli became the only batsman to score centuries against Pakistan in all three major ICC tournaments – the World Cup, Asia Cup, and Champions Trophy.

    Fastest to 14,000 Runs in ODIs

    Kohli also reached the milestone of 14,000 ODI runs during this match. He achieved this feat in just 287 innings, making him the fastest to do so. In comparison, Sachin Tendulkar took 350 innings, while Kumar Sangakkara reached the mark in 378 innings.

    Most Runs Against Pakistan in ICC ODI Tournaments

    Kohli now holds the record for the most runs against Pakistan in ICC ODI tournaments, with a total of 443 runs. He surpassed Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who has 370 runs against Pakistan in ICC events.

    Most 50+ Scores Against Pakistan in ICC ODI Tournaments

    Virat Kohli is also the active player with the most 50+ scores against Pakistan in ICC ODI tournaments. He has achieved this feat four times. Other cricket legends like Sourav Ganguly (vs. Kenya), Brian Lara (vs. Australia), Ricky Ponting (vs. India), and Kumar Sangakkara (vs. New Zealand) have also recorded four 50+ scores in ICC tournaments.

    Most Catches in ODIs for India

    During the match, Kohli took two crucial catches, including one of Khushdil Shah. With this, he became India’s top fielder in terms of catches in ODIs, reaching 158 catches. He surpassed Mohammad Azharuddin, who had 156 catches.

    Most ‘Man of the Match’ Awards in ICC Tournaments

    Kohli was already leading in terms of the most ‘Man of the Match’ awards in World Cups and Champions Trophy history. His century against Pakistan extended his record further, as he claimed the award for the 14th time. In comparison, Chris Gayle and Rohit Sharma have won this award 11 times each.
