Rohit Sharma donned the Indian jersey for the 250th time in One Day Internationals (ODIs) as he took the field in the summit showdown against Sri Lanka.
Rohit Sharma now joins the elite club of Indian cricketers who have represented the national team in 250 ODIs. This distinguished list includes legendary names like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, Mohammed Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli, and Anil Kumble. His journey in international cricket began in 2007.
Initially, Rohit Sharma began his career in the middle order but struggled to meet the high expectations. However, a pivotal moment came in 2013 when he was promoted to the opening position in white-ball cricket. Since then, the 36-year-old has been a consistent and integral part of the Indian cricket team, excelling in both ODI and T20 formats.

With an impressive record of 10,037 runs in ODIs at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 90.26, Rohit Sharma boasts 30 centuries and 51 half-centuries in his illustrious career. He holds the record for the highest individual score in ODIs, a stunning 264 against Sri Lanka in 2014.
In addition to this milestone, Rohit Sharma recently became the second-fastest cricketer, after Virat Kohli, to reach the 10,000-run mark in ODIs. He achieved this feat during the Super Four match against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup, taking 248 matches to do so, with Kohli achieving it in 205 innings.
